2020 Holly Days Ornament
We are happy to present this year's ornament - The Scallop Shell. Scallop Shells, also known as the Bay Scallop Shell, are often seen as a symbol of Cape Cod. Native to Cape Cod, the Scallop Shell is also a symbol of light which is just what we need in 2020! Each ornament was hand blown at the McDermott Glass Studio and are numbered and engraved by the artist. |

Sandwich is the birthplace and home of a unique family of giant light sculptures that appear during the Holiday season.
The majority of The Giants are sponsored by local businesses. They represent and highlight what these businesses are. An example of this is the first Giant, which was born in 1998, by its creator Michael Magyar from The Glass Studio on Cape Cod, in East Sandwich. Moto-San the Glassblower stands as tall as the Glass Studio building where he is displayed roadside, with hundreds of lights covering his steel rebar skeleton. Since that first year the number of Giants have grown. They have expanded down 6A, spill onto Main Street and stand tall on the backroads of Sandwich, as well as expanding into other nearby towns.
