2007"Holly Days" Icicle Ornament
The Sandwich Chamber of Commerce is proud to present our third annual hand-blown glass ornament to commemorate "Holly Days in Sandwich" 2007. The icicle ornaments are created in the McDermott Glass Studio in Sandwich. The 2007 Icicle ornament is made with a special iridescent finish for extra sparkle on the tree. Each is individually numbered for the collector. A limited edition of 250 will be produced.
David McDermott, an internationally known glassblower, has been working in glass for over 30 years. McDermott has made special pieces for six U.S. presidents, Pope John Paul II, many international dignitaries, as well as commissions for the media community.
Yukimi Matsumoto, originally from Japan, graduated from Osaka Designer School where she specialized in Production Design. After apprenticing in Japan, Matsumoto came to the United States to attend the Corning Institute of Glass.
Now the couple works together at McDermott Glass Studio in Sandwich where their rich visual vocabulary is translated into stunning and innovative works of art. To see more of McDermott's work visit; McDermott Glass
The cost of the "Holly Day" Icicle 2007 ornament is $25.00, payable to the Sandwich Chamber of Commerce. The collectible ornaments are available at: Eastern Bank, Sovereign Bank, Cape Cod 5, The Community Bank, Cape Cod Cooperative Bank, Thru the Years Gift Shop at Russell's Corner, Robert E. Guertin Jewelers and The Jewel Box in Merchant Square or at the Sandwich Chamber 4 Water Street.
